An incredible week for the first ever PHS ski trip! Setting out from Gatwick at 5am, the children (and staff) were very excited to get to the mountains. On arrival in the resort of Les Menuires, France, 25 Year 6 pupils accompanied by Miss Copsey, Mr Hodge, Miss Megahey and Miss Winser headed to Le Skilt Hotel where the children were fitted with their skis, boots and helmets. The first evening was spent exploring the village and getting used to the new surroundings.
After a hearty breakfast of croissants and pains aux chocolat, the children headed out to meet their French ESF (Ecole de Ski Francais) instructors: Elsa, Thomas and Nicholas. Each day, the children received 4 hours of ski lessons, which included learning how to carve, improving their parallel turns, as well as numerous visits to the snow parks. In addition to skiing, the children enjoyed swimming, snow games, a mountain rollercoaster, a movie night, and topped off the week with a disco.
After plenty of sunshine, snow, laughs and snowball fights, the children arrived home ready for the well-deserved Easter holidays.
